Sama Pranayama: a wholistic breathing technique explained !!
Pranayama’s are known to revitalise us thus making us more productive and stress free. There are many types of pranayama but there is one authentic type of pranayama not known in common. This style of pranayama not only revitalises us but makes the whole body’s regeneration and immunity aspect better.
Sama Pranayama
This style of pranayama includes inhalation, holding and exhalation. The process is you have to keep inhaling in a constant pace for 5 seconds, then you hold for 5 seconds and then exhale in a steady pace for 5 seconds. The main condition of this pranayama is that all the three parts has to be on the same rhythm. The right inhalation is called as Surya Padam, The holding is called as Agni Padam and exhale is called as Chandra Padam.
The surya padham relates to the pingalai naadi running in the body. Inhaling in surya Padam will naturally purify the air we breathe and the heat of the body is warmed up to the needed level, so that the pittam will have a raise slightly, this raise in pittam will cause the blood pressure to go up in the head refreshing us. Then comes the agni padham the raise in pittam and the energy to head is now used to control any excess kapha factor. This excess kapha factor highly determines how lazy or inactive a person will be. Not only this the kapha factor gives a greasy tecture to the system making whole body a mess and prone to system. Thats why people having lung issues are easily prone to diseases. This check of kapha factor will help control vadham. As the vadham and kapha are twins both helps and spoils each other. Just like in nature. As the free air automatically absorbs the moisture from the water pools or oceans and becomes heavy ladden winds. Sameway the unbalanced kapha will make the vadham heavy. This vadham is nothing but air, which determines the free movement of limbs and the quality of nerves and vains running in the body. If the vadham is highly damaged open heart surgery, paralysis, loss of senses is common. So the agni padham checks the kapha therefore drastically controls vadha. Now pitta and agni has to become normal or else pitta will be the killer. Pittam is the acedic nature of the body. The more we are acedic the more we are impulsive and insane. High imbalance of pittam leads to brain damage, kidney and liver issues, blood pressure, heart arrhythemia etc. So we have used poison to make our system right now poison has to come down else there is no point. So the last chandra Padam comes in. Exhaling equal pace in chandra Padam will neutralize pittam. This chandra Padam links to the idaikalai naadi of the body and cools the body from the excess pittam.
This is the actual working of the pranayama in our body. This pranayama is not widely most practiced as its benefits are not known. These exclusive techniques are mostly passed on from time to time, from person to person.
