IS MINIMALISM CONCEIVED AS SIMPLICITY ???
The notion on simplicity and minimalism is defined everyday by the people following the philosophies respectively, is there a real awareness between the two terms among the followers ? In my experience people jump between simplicity and minimalism therefore failing to realise the real lifestyle associated with the terms.
What is minimalism ?
Minimalism is a philosophy which perceives life in a compact way. The needs play a vital role. The needs are even judged and spent only when they become essentials. This essentials becomes the ingredient of a minimalistic lifestyle.
What is simplicity then ?
Simplicity is when you need an luxurious item but it is again a need to you. For eg if a person is a founder of an organisation and he buys a bmw car, in this scenario the bmw he bought enhances his mindset and also he can work even in his car. This means simplicity. This is the reason why simplicity is the highest sophistication. For instance we live in a highly hot place, technology paves us way to make the ambience cool. When a person makes use of this technological advancement to make his routine going, this becomes simplicity !!!
Having said all this, my intention is not to debate which is better but to enlighten the reality of these philosophies. Both this philosophies have their meaning only on a person’s financial levels. They are not a mentality or a character of a person. In capital economy, people who earn less have no go but to follow a minimalistic lifestyle where the expenditure is really less, so that their earnings and expenditure tally’s . Same way simplicity is followed by the industrialists and entrepreneurs so that they can really make products impacting the needs and daily life of the consumers therefore becoming a successful brand. There is no use in boasting about simplicity or minimalism, they only reflect the financial ability and strategy. Taking this philosophy to heart leaving the financial criteria’s will make a person closed and will start question about the existential level. Both minimalism and simplicity will sound same if you take finance out of it. Finance is the backbone to these philosophies, so once again i stress this point, never take these terms personally they are just financial philosophies helping us to understand out real capacity in spending therefore leading a peaceful life !!!
